Looking to reset after the holidays, my husband and I ducked out for a long weekend. Three days of private travel, wine tasting, and simple tranquility.

9am: Departed from Aurora Airport to Kentucky Blue Grass Airport
12pm (with time change, a two-hour flight): Explored the Blue Grass Airport and spent a little time at the lounge. Picked up our rental for the weekend.
1pm: Headed to Prodigy Vineyards and Winery in Frankfort for a wine tasting and tour of the grounds.
4pm: Drove to our hotel, The Kentucky Castle, known for its Michelin Star chefs, and on property produce.

Day 2
10am: After a restful night’s sleep and a late start, we drove 5 minutes down the road to a cute doughnut shop called DoughDaddy’s Doughnuts.
11am: Stopped at Rebecca Ruth’s Chocolates, the originator of the bourbon ball chocolates.
12pm: Buffalo Trace Distillery, took a tour, and sampled.
4pm: Back to our hotel for a luxe dinner and more wine

Day 3
10am: Checked out and drove to Keeneland Racetrack, an international Thoroughbred racing track, nestled in the heart of horse country
11am: Toured the grounds, open since 1936.
1pm: Headed to airport, returned the car, and fueled up 2pm: Departed from Kentucky Blue Grass Airport to Aurora Airport
4:45pm: Landed right as the sun was setting
7pm: Back in Naperville and refreshed after a quick adventure!

We had an incredible time connecting with ourselves while enjoying the beautiful scenery and delicious food!
